Meet your Instructor, Melissa Holden

WITH A SPECIAL INTEREST IN WOMEN’S HEALTH
& DANCE WELLNESS.

Melissa Holden is the founder of Nurture Pilates & Wellness. She spent her early adult years performing as a professional ballet dancer with several companies in the United States and during this time was first introduced to Pilates.

She then went on to teach barre classes, where she developed a passion for working with women during pregnancy and postpartum. She continued this work for over eight years and eventually became the lead educator within the company.

In the years leading up to motherhood, Melissa taught pre and postnatal reformer pilates programs in Yaletown and began working at a multi disciplinary clinic on the North Shore. Her experience working along side physiotherapists as a clinical pilates teacher was invaluable. It was during this time that she gained experience working with a diverse group of clients and a variety of conditions.

It was out of her postpartum journey that she knew she wanted to create a private, one on one space where her clients could feel nurtured  and gently guided to connect to their breath and body. Her goal is to meet you where you are and empower you to feel stronger and more balanced in and out of the studio.
